Power Pod

Our Power Pod network is a coordinated array of community-scale batteries, connected to the local grid.

Batteries have a huge part to play in achieving a net-zero electricity grid – by storing up excess renewable generated power when abundant and deploying it when the grid needs it most.

By storing the energy at a local level, our system combines the benefits of large-scale grid batteries with improved local energy resilience and security.

Why does it matter?

Our Power Pod network will help the UK reduce reliance on imported fossil fuels while also bringing down everyone’s energy bills.

How can you help?

We need your help to put these batteries where they are needed most.

We are looking to lease small parcels of land, around the size of half a parking space (2m x 2m), to host these battery systems.

Local Authorities and other municipal land owners are ideally placed to support this with unused areas such as grass verges or edges of commercial estates.

We are also partnering with Community Energy Groups to explore how these battery systems can be integrated into local area renewable generation to help maximise revenues and community benefits.

What’s in it for the Local Community?

01

Income.

Through direct community ownership or revenue share, each installed battery provides stable income for a 15+ year period

02

Reliability.

Each battery site protects the electricity supply of local citizens, preventing power dips, surges and even backup power in an outage.

03

Climate.

Each battery saves ~50 tonnes of CO2 per year by reducing the UK’s reliance on fossil fuels. Helping local areas achieve climate goals without inconvenience or cost
